The holiday shopping season kicks into high gear this week as retailers roll out their biggest Black Friday deals in-store and online.
Most major brands are shutting their doors on Thanksgiving Day — a move meant to give employees a reprieve on the holiday and an acknowledgment that more consumers are doing their holiday shopping online. Walmart, Target and Best Buy are all closing their brick-and-mortar stores. And, unlike years past, Walgreens says most of its 700 pharmacies will go dark for the holiday, even as rivals CVS and Rite Aid remain open.
